The Innovation and Capability team serves both the MOD and DGP members, helping to shape investment and facilitate greater MOD-industry collaboration to support development of innovative future military capability for MOD and export.

The team activities are focused on strategic, technical and capability topics supporting clear priorities for defence, industry, and wider government. There is a strong emphasis on working cross sector to align and leverage investment where appropriate and increase exploitation and commercialisation potential into civil and commercial markets both at home and internationally.

The outputs provide clear objective evidence to support strategic investment decisions and focus future funding to better effect. We deliver tangible benefits to government and industry through helping to focus future investment to address the key challenges to MOD and strengthen UK industrial capability.

Working together with market intelligence global data, the outputs also seek to identify potential collaborative partners for future UK capabilities. The team outputs feed into the International Engagement team, providing a view on UK innovation science and technology aspects.
